I have taught/assisted several classes at Penn State over the last few years
This course will introduce the basic ideas and techniques underlying the design of intelligent computer systems. A specific emphasis will be on the statistical and decision-theoretic modeling paradigm.
The goal of this course is to introduce the Spark programming model for processing Big Data discovering patterns and designing predictive models.
In this course, we will focus on how to understand how people interact with AI and algorithms globally and on how to find a way to gain a better relationship with this kind of technology. We will use the key concepts of “Data Colonization” and “AI Colonization” to understand the play between AI applications designed in the Western world and users all over the world.
In this course we will investigate how modern digital technology is shaping our world and our perceptions. We will follow a path inspired by Heidegger’s essay “The Question Concerning Technology”.
